EuroMillions winners reveal they’ll spend some of £115m haul on football club

Winners of the £115 million Euromillions Lottery prize revealed what they’re going to do with some of the money today – spend it on a football team.

Frances and Patrick Connolly, from Moira in Northern Ireland, went public with their £114,969,775.70 jackpot at a press conference today.

The couple lived in Hartlepool in County Durham for 25 years and Frances used to work with community football club St Francis FC.

And now the secretary of Hartlepool St Francis said “it feels like we’ve won the lottery too” after Frances said she planned to help with its finances.

Trevor Robinson succeeded her as club secretary at the club, which runs a series of teams for boys and girls.
