Dublin gets the full Workz with new HQ

Workz Group, a Dubai-based technology company, is setting up its European headquarters in Dublin and plans to employ up to 80 people at its new Irish office.

The outfit, which counts the former Ireland rugby international Brendan Mullin among its backers, is restructuring as it looks to expand in Europe.

Founded in 1997, Workz is the world’s largest maker of mobile top-up scratchcards and also one of the top manufacturers of Sim cards.

Workz plans to raise capital as it expands further into providing technology and analytics for internet of things applications — a series of connected devices such as smart sensors.
